1214 [Dow Jones] Commenting on pipeline of potential airport privatizations globally, Macquarie Airports (MAP.AU) CEO Kerrie Mather says there are opportunities particularly in Europe where only 10% of airports have been privatized. "The pipeline there is strong if not immediate," she tells AGM. French regional airports could be sold over next couple of years, and it's possible other airports in Western Europe such as the German and Spanish regionals could be sold, and there are likely to be opportunities in Eastern Europe as well. Adds airport privatization in U.S. is now "a glint in the eye." MAP is well positioned to take advantage of acquisition opportunities given global network of executives, know how and credibility associated with owning one of largest airport portfolios in world. "We've had a great year and we are very enthusiastic about the outlook for further growth in the business and shareholder value," she says. (RBT)
