There's a lot of spare cash around ... BHP, Xstrata, Rio. Last year none of the above were interested since better infrastructure at Abbot Pt was a long way off .. Dalr' Bay not near finishing. My hunch is that any bids by the above will take a month or two since they know FIRB will take that long. Foreigner bids, if any, will come quickly.
Looks like Peabody will only take 3 or 4 days to get 49.9% A lot of "sophisticated" (i.e. lobotomized monkeys) investors want out fast. FIRB will then take forever to decide. Similar to BANPU and CEY. Buy big , then price down for 3 months while FIRB picks its nose.
