Alexander Molyneux
CEO
Mr Molyneux is an experienced natural resources industry financier and executive. He served as Chairman of Azarga Uranium (TSX: AZZ) (2014 – 2015), Chairman of Celsius Coal (ASX: CLA) (2012 – 2014) as Non-Executive Director of Ivanhoe Energy (TSX: IE) (2010 – 2014). He currently serves as Non-Executive Director of Goldrock Mines (TSX-V: GRM) (2012 – present) and Chairman of Azarga Metals (private).
Mr Molyneux was President, CEO and Director of SouthGobi Resources (TSX: SGQ, HKEX: 1878) (2009 – 2012). Under his leadership, the company became the largest foreign operator in Mongolia’s coal sector. The company also completed a sovereign wealth fund financing and main board listings on the Toronto Stock Exchange and then subsequently Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Prior to joining SouthGobi, Mr Molyneux was Managing Director, Head of Metals and Mining Investment Banking, Asia Pacific, with Citigroup. In his position as a specialist resources investment banker he spent approximately 10 years providing advice and investment banking services to natural resources corporations.
Mr Molyneux holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from Monash University in Australia.
