Lets look at this from the rational & eventual end game perspective
Each major city just need one or two nuclear reactors and the gap a little coal fired plant. That would get rid of the worry of pollution that our 25 million compared to China's 1.5 billion are putting out??? The efficiency of these reactors gets better over time and the ability to reprocess the byproducts like plutonium 238 and others may one day be solved and storing not necessary- at least partially.
We have a couple hundred years of coal but this will never be used as the nuclear solution or better will have already been implemented anyway.
The judiciary (like god) is supposed to be untouchable and un contactable haha and definitely away from political influence and is our last "fair and balance" recourse when extreme events occur such as in VIC.
I would be gravely concerned if this delayed decision has any thing to do with the election dates or the like and surely we have to be assured that the highest courts can be totally impartial- no influence- ZERO
If not, that would be a scandal way way worse than what our piddly ban and collapse of all confidence!
Even the vic govt own admission about the permits and our cost with no exploration can only be seen as unjust and if extra compensation is awarded if part of the claim, then we have a case for lost earnings.
I am very optimistic that there will be a lot of parts to the finding and Lakes will win at least a third if not better but we really need to get the libs in as the only way of guaranteeing drilling in a few months and support from a business side of politics. A hung parliament could force the ban lifted as it starts to come out as being too unfair and many cross the floor plus heavy pressure against such a unique state stance
When a jury is out for a long time, it indicates that they are deadlocked as to the evidence or more questions are required to finalise to verdict from unsure evidence. Has the court been asking/researching for more data? or do they just take their time as they can!!
Just my friday musings- and perhaps we will get an early christmas present, but just not right now.
