Thought it was a good time to walk. A good call by Trump.
Trump is losing on this - gave away too much in Singapore for too little. No NK nukes gone, NK continue to build better nukes that can hit the US mainland with no pushback. No NK testing means nothing, so all Trump has done is taken the US media coverage of NK away much of the time, not the actual nuclear threat. That's getting worse.
I thought Singapore was a worthwhile gamble if Trump followed up closely and kept pressure on. He didn't. A butterfly brain, unfortunately. The Vietnam summit was good theatre - "Hey, we used to be enemies with Vietnam and now we're friends. And now their economy is 12 times yours! Look around. That's what I'm offering!" A good crack but it didn't work for Trump, so time to walk.
The problem of course is Russia and China are sneaking through the sanctions. They want an insane and dangerous North Korea. Walking away in Vietnam keeps Trump in the game. Not going well though.
