Good time to revisit this post. So, what's changed ?
Management (MD & key personnel)(but not the BOD) reputation will probably benefit from recent achievements, and the introduction of Len Eldridge may (should) result in corporate action, because Nord's other points in the main, are not sufficiently changed.
If the POG remains positive, and SLR's production metrics continue to improve, over the next couple of quarters, then the SP will continue to gravitate higher. Simple technical targets obviously are 50c resistance, then 60c, 70c, 80c. Obviously, if SLR re-enters the ASX 300, then all of these levels are possible.
And needless to say, the BOD remuneration committee is already fashioning STI and LTI incentives for the managers & BOD, for getting the company out of the mess they created !
So, unless they start paying dividends or engaging corporate activity to put SLR's capital to work, all shareholders will get is a better-looking chart, but no profit .... the more things change .....Please don't bother with that tired old refrain of why did I bother to buy a ' junior ' if I wanted a dividend .... as I have said before, SLR has produced over 1 million oz over the last decade, and its totally inappropriate to group them with WAF, CDV, DCN, GOR etc who are on the cusp of first production. So, unless SLR evolves, then its the same old pig with more lipstick.
So, for now, I (still) agree with Nord's that SLR is relatively undervalued, and presents a trading opportunity, and as long as the trend remains friendly, I'll hold, but I'm nervous, and looking for sell signals.
SLR, ain't no NST and is unlikely to ever be much more than an (improved) lifestyle company for the BOD and staff, and a golden mirage for shareholders.
PS ... WGX seems to have acquired the SLR virus .... it's chart shows a classic descending triangle formation, which has just broken through the base of 150c key support. PC and Cool Hand are old sparring partners and unlikely allies, but a combined WGX and SLR would produce 450-500k oz per year and offer multi-regional exposure, be an automatic member of the ASX 200 etc ..... what's Nord's think of WGX ?
