An increase to the global risk free rate - US interest rates.
Any downturn here will be created by the increase in interest rates. An increase in mortgage payments from $50k to $70k pa will criple households, and the reserve bank has little power to stop it. Guess who sits in the middle of the transaction and is going to lose? The banks. They have over lent and under provisioned for risk.
In Australia, Dominos pizza is cheaper than supermarket frozen pizza.
