I simply replied to your post that I prefer CBA to DMP due to the current price of both, the other guy is the one ranting about the Australian version of a sub-prime crisis being inbound. I like to base my decisions on what the data say now:

Dwelling investment growth (GGDPECCVPSDY) is down from 12.5% in Jun 2016 to -5% in Dec 2017.

So what level may it reach, well, dwelling investment dropped to -10% in Jun 2012, 9.7% in Jun 2009, -7.8% in Sep 2006. If we go back further dwelling investment growth dropped to -28.8% in Jun 2001 but recovered to 32.2% by Dec 2001, there was also -11% in 1990 and 1986 and -27% in 1983 and 1974.

Hence it is likely we are already over three quarters of the way to the bottom of the housing cycle. The worst recession Australia has had in forty years was when BOTH dwelling and business investment were sub -10%, current business investment is at 7.5% and trending up. However if this is 1990 again then I have bigger things to worry about than investing in the biggest player on the ASX at 12 times earnings.

And on DMP, I like cheap pizza, I'm hoping to exit between 55 and 58.
