Hi, Madagascar Graphite is not YET available, unlike in Brazil. In Madagascar, to the best of my knowledge, Only 4000tpa operation from "établissements galois", and a 3000tpa operation from "stratmin resources" (now Bass Metals on ASX). Both companies are looking to expand their production output. Bass will produce this year 6000tpa (the mine is currently on full fefurbishment) and by next year quadrupling this output figure to 24.000tpa+ (expansion plans).
The advantage of Madagascar graphite is that it is easily mineable (soft clay weathered ore, near surface) so no need for dynamite to explose the rocks and destroy the graphite crystalline structure in the process. The other even more important advantage is that it is moslty Large flakes (60%+) which are rare, little available in chinese deposits, and thus command a higher price premium.
