By the way I forget to add that this is a stock pushed heavily by the rivkin group. They also go as far as saying that for the life of them they cant work it out why the price is so low. Then again they keep saying the same thing with stocks like BCL etc. The fact of the matter is that one must respect the market. If the market is saying they dont like it then there is no point buying it holding it and praying for a million years just for it to reach breakeven. In the mean time you have missed other opportunities as you have tied up capital here and also paid or sacrified interest expense. I have written to the rivkin group often about these concepts and have told them to their face that their money management technicques are dismal. But the penny does not drop. The people running it now are amatures compared the old man. One more thing - this buy, hold and pray strategy is also good if you have a tonne of money to put aside and forget and then keep investing continuiously. However, if you fell into that category you wouldnt be wasting you time on hotcopper. So take my advice seriously. Dividend stripping only works well with stocks that are bullish. AVJ is showing weakness. So you may only break even with franking credits which you get only with your tax return and in the mean time run your capital dry. Good luck
