I sold RAT, MOS and ILF recently because I am seeing the A$ go higher on our mining and agricultural economy and subsequent SP decrease. The yields on these are still very good and nobody will go broke keeping them, especially if dividends are important. But I thought that my money would appreciate more in the short term if I backed gold explorers and miners eg CNT, KCN, VRE, SBM, AZS, RML, TMR and local (for me)specs ITT, GGY and MKY. Ideally these will peak at the same time as A$ and I can buy back into the above US$ stocks at a lower price with more capital than I sold out for; if I can pick the peaks. At least I am happy that I have a good plan? Already the sold stocks have dropped and the others have risen and I could swap back at a much better position than I was at a few weeks ago.
