The Brain Anaesthetic Response (BAR) monitor assists anaesthetists to ensure patients remain optimally anaesthetized during surgery. Its competitive advantage has been recognised by leading world experts in anaesthesia.  Cortical has received both TGA approval and the CE mark and has now commenced its sales campaign. Incorporated in 2004, Cortical has focused developed and is now commercialising a brain monitoring technology developed at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. Professor David Liley led research resulting in the invention of a new methodology which uses a complex mathematical algorithm to quantify important physiological features of higher brain function in real time. According to Cortical: The core technology is based on real time analysis of the patient’s brain electrical activity, electroencephalograph (EEG), using a proprietary algorithm based on a mathematically and physiologically detailed understanding of the brain’s rhythmic electrical activity. Until now, there has been no reliable way to monitor consciousness in a patient’s brain during anaesthesia. Cortical has achieved this outcome for the first time. In 2012, the global brain monitoring market equated to $1.08BN and is poised to grow at a CAGR of 8.6% to reach $1.63BN by next year. Cortical plans to IPO this year. The company has received industry recognition and awards in the areas of technology, pharma, manufacturing and more. BPH is a significant investor in Cortical, and has the right to exercise its option to take over 15% of the company pre-IPO. An analysis of IPOs on ASX over the last 8 years to end 2016 has shown:

Average first day premium (from the issue price) of 18.79 %

Average premium from list price after three months of 25.48% [2]

One wonders when the sophisticated investors holding onto the Molecular Discovery Systems Limited can expect to see their shares listed on the ASX.

My interim certificate has a date on it of 1 January 2010 just between you and I I’m not sure I refer to six years as interim!!!

I would strongly recommend that any so called sophisticated investors thinking about this offer should read the MMR threads.
