Thanks for the discussion folks, seems fundamentally the disagreement is over takeup of batteries. Remember also that EV is only one of the uses - storage for renewable energy is also significant. Domestic takeup is huge, industry (real estate) is looking at it quite closely too.

The focus has been on China, and it makes sense that China will move the fastest due to the central policy decisions. Was just reading an article this morning in the AFR about India's pollution problems - they now have the top 10 polluted cities in the world and a cancer epidemic (non-smokers getting lung cancer!) India has its own problems which will make it harder for them to move. But the solution is fairly obvious - India will also need to stop burning fossil fuels and switch to clean energy. Notice SYR's sales so far - India and China are at 8 customers each.
