Graphite+anodes 2018 (22-23 october 2018)

Funny in this conference so many competing anode technology developers will be presenting :

-natural graphite anodes
-synthetic graphite anodes
-blended (natural+synthetic) graphite anodes
-silicon anodes
-blended (natural+synthetic graphite+silicon) anodes
-lithium metal anodes (for solid state battery technology)

The biggest war IMO would be between natural VS synthetic graphite. The natural is less expensive (used mostly in low value battery small devices), but the sythetic is more consistent in quality (used mostly with EV batteries)....IMO those developers able to achieve the consistency/quality of synthetic with natural graphite feedstocks while keeping costs low would make a fortune !

other technologies (lithium anodes for solid state batteries) are at least a decade away due to prohibitive costs for their industrial large scale deployments, especially that Lithium-ion batteries with traditional graphite anodes are still improving their performance (energy density) and their security (better anode/cathode/electrolyte separators thanks mainly to High Purity Alumina coatings and other high tech coatings techniques)...Time will tell !
