Why would you follow what directors do? We have witnessed enough in recent months to be very wary of making decisions based on directors' actions.
Many publications have been printing details of directors purchases. Those of us who didn't know, now know that a statement saying that director X has bought x million shares at a cost of $xx millions doesn't actually mean that the director actually parted with the full purchase price. It is all fun until the finance falls over.
