Good post Manny, you make some very important points.

Timee, I'm not suggesting you ignore any quantitative analysis, just any that relies on brokers forecasts 1,2,3 years down the track.

It seems we're on the same page although you seem to believe that including a lousy prediction is better than including no prediction at all. Why bother?

If from your research you're confident that the company has a good chance to continue to grow its earnings then why the need to specify valuations in future years if those valuations are almost certain to be incorrect? Isn't it enough that you believe the company has good growth prospects and the ability to increase earnings?
