Very true @sirrobbo. I have always found it disheartening when companies with great prospects have directors who think it is their right to issue themselves large chunks of stock without regard for dilution.
If directors want stock, it sends a very strong message when they pay for it on market, just like any shareholder would... putting their own money in the game and placing stock in unshakable hands screams of credibility, belief in the company and a connectedness to shareholders.
From memory, in the last 12 months alone, Magnis exec. directors have purchased well over $800k worth of stock on market. This is even more impressive considering their individual salaries are relatively low compared to peers.
