I think because they have been around a long time...plenty has been said on hotcopper over the last 8 years !  

38 million shares is hell of a lot.  I dont think all directly owned by MS. He has brothers and others in the same arrangement me thinks. Happy to be corrected. But if he owns only 1.4 M shares I would be very dissappointed !  This has been discussed before. It turned out he had a hell of a lot more than the official declaration.

Doesn't say much for what constitutes an official declaration ! 

If shares are owned by a company and you are a director of that company, then they need to be declared. I don't know what kind of a holding the 'Levenson Investments pty ltd' is, but you would think he is a director. 

Either way plenty of shares can sit anonymously behind the custodians and nominees of large banks. 

If I have 4M shares, does this put me in the top 50 at 0.3555 %   ? !
