I gave Aldi a try but have decided not to go back... Their products are cheap, but also inferior quality in my view.

If Woolies and Coles turn to home brand, I will only ever shop at IGA and Foodland then.

The thing that worries me is it seems there is a race to the bottom in all retail these days. The likes of Bunnings and Harvey Norman have all but killed off the quality local hardware guys and electrical store. I see it happening in other industries too, where little specialty shops are being killed off, They are being replaced with either poor service, poor quality goods or both. The general public are either too dumb or so hooked on getting a bargain that they don't care.
