Your a quality poster SEMS but I got to disagree slightly. Markets you say are "capital injection or reduction facilities" but you miss the point that some markets command more capital!
Yeah, it's not impossible to invest in another exchange, but people being people they don't like to, or never quite get around to doing it. Your general online investment broker i.e - Westpac/Commonwealth etc can charge a small fortune to keep the account open and brokerage is extortionate. They don't always cover small caps, and I vaguely remember asking a few times and there was papers to fill out man, a lot of papers...In the end I just never quite got around to getting my international share trading account. (ironically the last time I was looking I think it was for SOLG!)
People in London know about IRR and they know about SOLG. They are listed and cherished stocks. DGR perhaps trades at a discount is because SOLG and IRR do not trade on the ASX??
So do you try and list two stocks on the ASX or one on the AIM? (or in Canada- access to North American investors would be awesome)
Look on a NTA basis DGR is now almost entirely comprised of IRR and SOLG anyway. Do you really think it will take people in London long to work out the discount and act...... when it is right there sitting on a plate! That is a gift horse and they invented the protocol for dealing with gift horses.
Sure the loan wont go unnoticed, and the fact DGR does not always put DGR shareholders before the development of daughter companies will not go unnoticed. But it will be put in perspective. Like 20% on a 3 mill loan is 600,000 thousand per annum interest which obviously compounds ( and is abhorrent on the half yearly and needs to be sorted- no disagreement there)
BUT ......600,000 vs 80 mill (AUS)...................... 600,000 vs 80 mill (AUS)
Two weeks.... Discount mostly gone... Go read the london forums, people are pumped..... They aren't talking about getting destroyed 5 years/10 years ago. They are talking about the 100's of % they made on SOLG and how the ride is far from over and will very likely continue.... And how IRR will explode.....
I'm sorry for anyone who lost money here, but a few of you are beginning to sound like total pussies.
