My birdie told me that we will get news, just not the DFS (of course we could be surprised).

It should not really matter if the DFS is a week or two late other than it creates a bad impression of management of not delivering on time. I feel it is a bit hard on management since these reports are done by consultants and it is the consultants who are usually responsible for any delay. I would much rather a rock-solid DFS that was a week or two late than a half-baked DFS on time.
