Hmmm, I would be interested in knowing the detail if the vine rumour has substance. One would have to suspect that SonyBMG would in such an event, be a likely candidate for taking on the labels, given that it manages the distribution of some, if not all already.
It would sadden me to lose that part of the business associated with the management, delivery and distribution for online music as DES have done the hard yards, so I hope they hang onto that. As for websites, Mess & Noise and Oyster are money spinners.
A paradigm shift? Consolidation? What are they up to?
