Port Hedland port would probably be about 800k by road and Esperance maybe a bit further, so not sure whether it would be viable trucking dso out of there, though the manganese was being trucked out so who knows. Plenty of spare capacity at Esperance port and GWR was contemplating taking dso from Wiluna to Esperance a few years ago but there was no spare capacity at the time. I think GWR was talking about using rail some of the way from memory.
