When DES is up and running and exploiting there first "all rights" film acqusiitons, it woul dbe great to see some reporting on a film by film basis, but we will not be so lucky, this would really paint a picture. The money Magna spent on FLYBOYS, ASTRONAUTS FARMER, LONELY HEARTS, A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION etc. would have burnt a hole in their pocket. These films are now inherited by DES as part of the library, but the real concern is performance of film acquisitions going forward, already there have been a number of high profile film acqusitions that will be interesting to follow. Factor in significant upfron costs for some of these films US$750k+ and then also factor in P&A spends of $500k minimum to open these film theatrically and you can see a lot of business has to be done to generate a profit. I am sure the P&L's look godd, but factual results are different and truth be told Magna had few successes across the "all rights" distribution platform, so why will things change now. Same staff, different name.
On the other hand, why sell the warehouse in Brisbane????
