On a serious note -- I think it is fairly easy in some aspects to see how Trump has got solid support.
IMO - many people -- cannot tell the difference between pride and false pride.
Humans react strongly to pride - the body language of pride - humans consider people who look proud to be people who are achievers - successful deliverers -
Trumps body language is accentuated pride ---------- his head is often held very high - he often looks like a proud man - his language of it is over the top - look at many many photos of him.
I am hampered by his body language, because I have observed the language of pride and false pride for a long time - and, the real standouts for me with false pride to the level of which Trump displays it - I have only seen a few times at most - and, all of the cases were as thick as bricks. They didn't know poop from sugar.
To me - that's one of the things that strongly influences his following ----------- 'particularly' in America (I think) - I doubt if it would have the same effect in Australia or the UK - but, I am only guessing - IMO, he would be seen through very quickly.
However - if you look at where his major support is in America - it coincides with less educated states - I don't know if that is coincidence with the pride issue or not - but, it well may.
References? -- just google images of 'Trump' - then, look up the psychology of pride and it's effects on human followers.
It's quite fascinating.
Of course - there's more to him than that - look at what he says, what he promises etc etc - it's a mere repeat of some of the biggest failures in history - but, people still fall for it hook, line and sinker.
