In any case, with regard to your two points of contention: Please consider that circa 90% of daily car use is 40KM, so the majority (90%) of recharging is only to top-up the battery. And like Europe's grid, ours will evolve to renewables in time with sufficient capacity to handle the influx of EVs. Germany, as an example, with its population of 83 million consumers, and with the 2nd highest EV sales next to China, is on track to produce so much electricity with renewables that it may have to give power away free in the future.
