Almost two million EVs in China, but no trouble with the grid supply or melting pillar boxes.

The truth of the matter is that the global grids will, over time, convert to renewables, which is now on a cost par with fossil fuels, and renewables will grow and evolve with the growth of EVs.

The only people that seem to down ramp EVs and battery tech seem to be climate change deniers and Trump supporters. Go figure!
