Nope. That is not the reality. Coal is dying out fast in most countries as new renewables come on stream especially solar with battery storage. Wind is massive and inexpensive compared to coal and coal is a major polluter that is closing down all over the country. There should be many more coal closures on environmental grounds alone but the reality is it is financial reasons for coal fired power stations shutting down so don't listen to pathetic excuses that it is political in any way such as some Green Conspiracy. All reasons for closure were purely financial such as French energy giant ENERGIA stated their large coal fired power station was simply not profitable to run. At this point in time there is no requirement for fusion and it is simply not safe anyway.

The reality is the renewable s are heavily subsidised and we are exporting cheap energy in the form of coal to countries smarter than us to use in their new coal fired power stations. When comparing energy costs, take out the subsidy to get the true cost and see where you are.
