1. Well shareholder update from company mentions re visit to USA in November. And through some great posters we know our CEO has just returned from a visit to USA .
Quote from update. -
" A further visit is planned for November 2017 to secure investment and develop future joint venture opportunities in America ".
2. Now if you look at the Annual report you can see Colin Iles has worked for CMC Cometals .
Quote from Annual report -
" He was previously General Manager for CMC Cometals Australia, a subsidiary of the Commercial Metals Company headquartered in Texas, USA
3. Now tie in this New Annual report presentation with detailed photos of plant and continual mention by company of USA and you get the feeling they are trying to tell us something.
Quote from Annual report -
" The Opportunity Worldwide steel production is more than 1 billion tonnes, and all steel mills generate by-product streams. Once the testwork program is completed and the Newcastle plant is converted to an ongoing facility, Austpac’s business model is to export ZIRP technology via licensing arrangements of US$5–10 million (depending on plant size) plus a production royalty. This would constitute a minor investment level for a large steel maker generating upwards of 1 million tonnes of Fe bearing dust and pickle liquor. It is estimated an EAF plant generating 100,000 tonnes of EAF dust generates an income of US$100 million, while a BOF plant generates US$65 million
They have never really gone into this much detail before so my guess would be a deal in the USA and Australia.
4. Feed stock secured for company
Quote from Annual report. -
" An east coast-based Australian steelmaker is supporting the testwork program by supplying furnace dust containing iron oxides and some zinc minerals, as well as SPL from the steelmaker’s pickling lines
They have mentioned this several times in past announcements and I get the feeling they are talking about Bluescope steel, but that's my opinion. Through reading many Bluescope steel articles we know Bluescope steel are heavily cashed up and have mentioned they are looking for aquisitions.
So we could be looking at two major deals to start of with.
1. USA
2. east coast based australian steel maker
Nice position to be in. Ever since Colin came to the company you can sense a different drive from APG.
Guess time will tell.
