Cheers for the reply but where did I say it was for democracy or that it was a summary of the war?
Perhaps where I mentioned Syria? No mention of democracy there, old chum- just a note that we were there 100 years ago just as we are today & for much the same reason, that Turkey wanted to rule over the Syrians.
Especially the Brits? Yeah- of course it must have been because of one of the nations that was on the defensive. Try reading some more books to get a bit more of a balanced view.
The war started because of a whole range of factors, I’m not going to engage in a tit for tat ‘look at me- I’m right & you’re wrong’ conversation- the main point is that the same old things are happening right before our eyes & we are sleep walking right into it.
The post was to encourage people to read as much history as they can to at least have some idea of just how much of a merry go round it all is & that if we ignore history we are doomed to repeat it.
Soldiers in a Western nation being arrested for planning what was basically a coup is the most dangerous thing I have seen in my life ( in the context of Western society ), yet here we are, that is ignored so that someone can come tell the world how right they are & how wrong someone else is ( by ignoring what was actually written ).
Cheers for helping to illustrate my point. I’m wrong & you’re right, can we now note just how long it has been since a military coup has been staged in the West & just how dangerous such a thing could be for the world? Use the word ‘putsch’ as the first clue.
