Datron files breach of contract lawsuit against technology supplier Etherstack PLC(ESK: ASX) for failure to deliver radio technology.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 25, 2014
Datron World Communications, Inc. (http://www.dtwc.com), a leader in military communications products, today announced their decision to discontinue the Guardian 2 P25 Public Safety radio product line.
Datron has determined that the product line is no longer a viable radio solution to offer to public safety agencies. The company has filed a breach of contract lawsuit (case number 1:2013cv07633) in the Federal District Court in New York against technology supplier Etherstack PLC(ESK: ASX)due to multi-year delays in receiving contract deliverables, which in turn has resulted in a much delayed release of the product line, notably the previously announced Tri-band model.
Current customers for Guardian 2 P25 radios will continue to be supported through their product warranty periods.
“Datron remains focused on its successful tactical radio and strategic HF products, as well as its ongoing market initiatives in Unmanned Aerial Systems and new wideband data products” said Kevin J. Kane, President and CEO of Datron, “We will continue to evaluate new technologies relevant to public safety users and our military customer base.”
