nice one DDT.... read the last sentence, in announcement below.... right along the lines of what i was thinking (re: my previous post)....
The Directors of DataDot Technology Limited (ASX:DDT) announce that Mr Peter Housden has resigned as Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Board Remuneration Committee. Mr Housden remains a non-executive director of the company and member of the Audit Committee. The Board accepted Mr Housden’s resignation with regret and thanked him for his leadership, especially during and since the company’s listing in January.
The Board has elected Mr Ian Brown as a non-executive director and to the positions of Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.
Mr Brown brings over 40 years experience in the general insurance sector to DataDot. Until his retirement last week he was Deputy CEO of Insurance Australia Group Ltd (IAG), and has previously held the positions of Acting CEO of IAG, Chief General Manager International and Corporate Services of NRMA Insurance, Managing Director of SGIO and General Manager of QBE Insurance. Mr Brown will continue on the Boards of several Asian subsidiaries of IAG including China Automobile Association Beijing (Chairman), NZI Thailand, Safety Insurance Thailand, IAG Reinsurance and IAG Asia.
Mr Ian Allen, CEO of DDT said the company was delighted to have secured Ian Brown’s services as Chairman while retaining Peter Housden’s experience as a non-executive director. “The company will benefit from every angle. In governance terms we have increased the number of non-executive directors and added to the pool of experience and talent on our Board. And in marketing terms Ian Brown’s appointment provides an incomparable bridge to the insurance industry and to Asian and US markets, all of which are critically important to the company’s future growth.”
