Today, Clinuvel opened above $13, peaked at $13.52 and closed at $12.80 on comparatively very high volume, 138,000. On 13 April 2007 Clinuvel closed at $12.30, this was the previous highest close. On 2 April 2007 Clinuvel opened at $14.00 and this remains the highest share price, it closed at $12.20 on that day. Other than the single day when the share price was $14, Clinuvel has never traded above $13 - until today! Obviously the market cap is much greater now due to an over 60% increase in the number of shares. At the time of $14 Clinuvel was 7 years from approval of a drug in a major market, 10 years from making a profit and almost 12 years before any FDA decision. It was pure speculation then. Just what it is now is less clear. Some says takeover but I am sure no one has any idea. In the absence of a solid announcement I expect a pullback because nothing ever goes up in a straight line.
