Many open pit mines have a considerable depth of overburden to be removed before any payable ore is able to be accessed. Also able to get more than 50% of the payable gold by simple gravity recovery speeds up the cash flow. The metallurgy results were very favourable but they don't seem to have been appreciated by most investors.
