Barral read correctly. You always have to keep in mind the opportunity cost: at worst, any money you have tied up in a stagnating SP could be earning 3-4 %. At best it could be invested in another stock in which the SP is increasing.
Excitement is really starting to come off BHP deal, as anyone could have predicted. I'll wait on the sidelines for a few months. If I miss out, well that's tough but it sometimes feels like people think there will be some kind of tangible punishment for not being in for "DGR's big moment" (that is perpetually around the corner). Worst case is trivially risk-free: moving on to the next opportunity.
As reality turns out, I've in fact been correct, and made a lot of money by not being in DGR long term. Each to their own.
