not electric cars, but rather the fact that cars nowadays have smaller engines that must then run at higher compression ratios, so premium fuels are the only alternative to stop the engines from pre detonating!
in other words they use less fuel, but the actual fuel costs more at the petrol bowser, and basically, this is the only reason CTX is still viable.
