CTI Taxi Trucks has been providing fleet management services to Orora Packaging (formally Amcor) for many years.
Recently we were invited to tender for a contract for Orora’s beverage division and were successful.
The contract is to deliver glass wine bottles to Margaret River wine region.
Our scope of work includes container transport from the wharf, container unpack, cross docking, distribution and reverse logistics.
The warehouse activity is undertaken at CTI Minerals and Energy Logistics’ 310 Spearwood Ave facility. To handle the task we have purchased a “state of the art” Krueger B-train combination.
As glass bottle pallet dimensions are not standard and with the product being fragile, special load restraint equipment for safe transportation is needed.
The B- train combination features includes an internal polycarbonate lined “Slide-A-Gate” system, load restraint certified curtains and pneumatic front and rear wall expanders.
This combination is being pulled by one of our latest MAN prime movers and can carry 56 pallets of wine bottles on each trip.
We commenced this work in late June and the feedback from Orora and their clients has been very positive.
This contract is another example of our “One Business” approach with CTI Taxi Trucks handling the transport and CTI Minerals and Energy Logistics doing the container unpacking and cross docking.
