You are right - in our current world it is no longer good enough to invent a better mousetrap - you must also market it effectively.
It is because we are willing to take on some of the perceived risk in our investments that we are able to shoot for better than bond returns. The trick is to find investments where the market has priced in the risk incorrectly. CST may well be such an investment. While the market thinks (as you do) "cst = high risk" and prices it accordingly, those of us that have researched and assessed the risk as lower are happy to purchase/hold for the rewards that will come when CST commences sales.
There is always risk. It is when the market has mispriced the risk that we can profit.
