“investors have'nt turned against CST...traders have..so looks to me you're on the outer”
Well warmup you are entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine.
Consider this - CST is not a trading share. CST is far too light on in the liquidity department. In addition, the spread is not attractive for a trader. CST is not an easy share to offload in volumes in a hurry without rocking the sp big time and driving it to the basement (the way it is heading right now).
At current prices the share is, however, far too costly with its huge P/E ratio close to 40.
You are paying far too much for uncertain earnings (also impacted by Forex uncertainty) way out in the future. The P/E ratio has to cut in half to get close to sector averages.
The current yield is also unattractive. Far too low and need to double to get close to sector averages.
To make CST attractive the yield must increase and the P/E must fall.
Those who have been holding CST for 3 years are showing a loss on their investment measured by total shareholder return for that period.
The 5 year holders are just breaking even, which in reality is going backwards considering CPI.
All too much hype based on optimistic numbers on fancy spreadsheets in ‘secret reports’.
Buffett would not touch this company with a bargepole – far too expensive at current levels. (In any case, it is not a sector he pedals in)
“Could'nt be happier topping up at these levels!!!!”
So you like to see your net worth decreasing – wow !
You sound like a long-term CST holder averaging down.
If you by your research justified buying CST 3-5 years ago at the prices back then, perhaps the current prices are looking like ‘a bargain too good to be true’.
You know what they say about that !
Be careful, have stop-loss measures in place (mental or in the market) to preserve your invested capital. Don’t get hooked on the s/s cheer squad hype and DYOR.
Watch your steps and Good luck.
PS.
“oh yeh..could be Mr Ron Ps last year at CST!!the little birdie is tweeting!”
What should one read into this comment of yours, warmup. You think CST is in need on a new chairman or what ?
