Was just reading a story in the Sydney Morning Herald which inspired some thought.

Bad news for Robertson, but even worse for the Nationals

It seems the games continue with state government MP's playing off against each other to improve their political standing. In an effort to improve his position, NSW opposition leader John Robertson has today announced a new policy for NSW Labor, demanding a suspension of all new CSG exploration licences. A move that will almost certainly guarantee extra votes in the polls.

A shame the sector is being used as a political ping-pong ball....

As I have mentioned previously, the TALMA well is positioed approx. 30km south of Casino on what appears to be a small property, surrounded by bush with no apparent "farming or agricultural" uses. Therefore, could ROG's strategy to progress TALMA to possible production work in their favour given the current scrutiny surrounding the CSG sector?

As mentioned in the article, the Farmers Association has a heavy foot and influential grasp over the state governement causing them to walk on egg shells.

A prime location (assuming commercial viability) and smart move by ROG to advance exploration in this area IMO.

Just a thought.......
