that's because BTC never could work as advertised, because its economics is delusional. That's why it failed literally every aspiration Satoshi had for it, and ended up just a substantially centralised speculative commodity.
You can however make money trading on it - buckets of money if you're good - taking caution that it's zero-sum (there's almost no crypto economy), and that the crypto trading market is almost entirely unregulated and so is an amazing zoo of every market manipulation you can think of, and some remarkably shonky and amateurish exchanges.
