Came across a very interesting project and have since bought in - ECC - https://ecc.network/
They are working on quite a lot of really nice stuff - secure file storage and transmission, ANS (no more random 16 character strings for addresses - will make crypto alot more user friendly), Messaging, fast, low cost payments and the real kicker - multi chain!
The problem ECC are getting around - traditional single blockchain networks can easily become congested as more transactions are processed - especially if distributed apps are using the main blockchain. If the network only handles payments then it isnt so bad although as we have seen with bitcoin - transactions can take upto 1-2 hours to process and cost a bundle in fees. Most networks are running on a single chain and it significantly limits the ability to expand the scope of use model and product offering. Sacrificing to limit network congestion. Even ETH (probably the world's most scalable technology) is running on a single chain.
ECC are tackling this with Multi Chain technology - Basically having a parent chain maintaining the payment network and child chains to handle the distributed apps - making it massively scale-able without affecting the main network. ECC are not the only mobb looking at multi chain solutions as a way forward but they are one of only a few and they have more in development and more to offer in due course
ECC have a really solid roadmap and whitepaper - their new wallet/platform, coined "Sapphire" will be out soon and will form the base for all dapps to run through...
Here is a table of projects developing just some of the stuff next to ECC and look at the market caps (MCAP is probably 20-30% lower than the quoted in the table atm too - all in USD)
They are very active developers - multiple commits per week and they are very active within the community, very approachable and knowledgeable - They are across multiple channels Slack, Telegram, Discord - They also have a very active twitter, medium, reddit, bitcointalk etc. The community itself is really quite strong and mature too... Thankfully there isnt alot of "When Lambo, When Moon?" talk although there is still some - probably more in jest.
Current price range is 20-24sat - or about .002-.0025c AUD and I think it is quite undervalued - Some good info floating around and some youtubers have done some content around it - looks like a very promising project with potential for BBBBBBAAAAAAGGGGGGSSSSS. Only on two exchanges at the moment Coinexchange and Cryptobridge but more exchanges will be added soon - once it hits bigger exchanges, it will likely grow a lot more rapidly.
