The irony meteor is Rajapakse was a positive influence during his initial tenure. In general buddhists in SL are very good people (excluding the nationastic extreme buddhists). Sri Lanka is very similar to Singapore in demographics and religions have prospered without any major issues. Even the LTTE was a cause that many understood before they became extreme in ideology (even the tamils abandoned the LTTE ).
My old man donated to rajapakse when he was starting out eons ago (i think it was the wheels to a car - just to show their backgrounds of poverty). The issue with rajapakse was the influence of his family and the increased impunity with the ownership of private and public assets, often unjustly. Rajapakse is not done yet as this is the major issue with current election. He is still popular with his own party.
In terms of MRF, it has done well to avoid any scandal. To do business in a country u need to do it their way. Mrf seems senditive to this. Trust me if Mrf had been associated with the previous regime, the current government would have sought retribution thru mrf. A foreign country will be dealt mercilessly if any excuse is given. I say let get thru August. The product of vein graphite us not an issue anymore - it is the quantity. I trade in all graphite stocks but invest in 1 - that is mrf. Sri lanka is small and well developed for a developing country. Infrastructure while an issue is miles ahead of africa. Further it is amongst a commercial trade route. All bodes well. The buggest risk is a failure to deliver on the graphite quantity. The rest will take care if itself.
