I just finished fabricating 440 perforated aluminum shutters for a multi storey building in Melbourne .
My price was just under $.5 million , I imagine the builders price to the owner would have been more . These shutters provide shade for the windows ,they have an aesthetic value but do not generate electricity although they would provide an addition to the r value .
This building also has windows behind the shutters , so the argument that clearvue windows wouldn’t be used in a building due to cost isn’t relevant .
Architects will pretty much use anything that is new tech or in vogue regardless of cost.
