I agree with you. You would not use them on houses. Try telling that to people and you will be shot down very quickly.
The cost of these 1m x 1m panels is unknown. We have been told on here repeatedly that it's an extra $50-$60 per m2 on top of a standard glass panel, this cost though does not take into account the electrics to get them producing power.
I rang the company and asked for an awning panel size pane of 1575 x 1250 and got told they can't do it.
