I feel anyne who is looking for a certain payback period as a reason to invest in a Clearvue glass panel is missing the whole point of this amazing technological leap and what this breakthrough brings to the table.
Yesterday we simply had glass that gave us absolutely nothing but a view.
Today we have glass that does all of the things normal glass does but now this new one generates power, offsets our power consumption cost or enables us to save the power internally in the building via a battery.
Sure a battery currently costs really serious money but so does my 65" TV or Twin Fridge or PC or dog food or whatever high end product you want to mention, but not one of these products enables me to save money or actually makes me money such as selling power or offsetting exorbitant power costs.
Now I find this very similar to "yesterday" having no tax deduction for a particular product but all of a sudden "today" having a tax deduction for this same product.
What I mean is.....
If today I have a monetary advantage over yesterday I will today or tomorrow or next year find a way or pay an accountant to find a way to make this work to my advantage.
Sure it costs more $$$ to install a Clearvue glass panel today but tomorrow it will cost less, next year it will cost much much less and within some years to come, standard glass will not even be considered as it will not produce power.
Now there are not many assets on STANDARD buildings that will produce power with no moving parts. Assets consume power or sit there being pretty for a purpose.
Why is everyone who is negative on the product so consumed with Clearvue glass generating a $$$ return when yesterday you got absolutely no return on your normal windows whatsoever.
They have a manufacturer in China who can make 300,000 panels per annum starting tomorrow. Next year, in scaling up, any factory could easily multiply production numbers.
Solar reducing in cost by 90% over the past 5 years due to production and take up at scale will be easily reflected in cost reductions in a product such as Clearvue glass as the smarts are already in play.
Battery storage costs will easily go the same way due to the stampede to produce this consumable product.
