I think the whole 100% transparency point is slightly overrated.

I know that if I had to choose, I would prefer a slightly more opaque glass that generated more electricity rather than a 100% transparent glass that generates less. At a distance it would look like tinted glass, which IMO has its advantages, not including the ability to generate more electricity.

You might think 100% transparency is a good thing and a pro for CPV but I don't think it's really that simple of a metric. The cost of the product and how much electricity it generates should be the priority, not the transparency.

The fact that Onyx Solar is installed in "over 150 projects across the planet" just goes to show that not everyone cares about 100% clear glass.


You keep saying CPV has the "best product in the world" and that it's the "most advanced". CPV is only starting to lift off, we are seeing companies out there who are already established, and it can easily be argued THEY have the best product in the world if you consider market share to be important. You need to look at this with less emotion. Calling the opposition "ugly" and "useless" when it's installed in over 150 projects worldwide is pretty silly.

ALSO, doesn't CPV require a special frame? The glass bounces UV and IR light to the solar cells within the window frame. Can you please show me where it says they can use the glass itself in any sort of frame?
