I did some calculations explaining cost benefit payoff detail in a long post a few weeks ago, if I cant find it I will crunch the numbers again tomorrow to explain cost, power yield and also $$ savings at current power prices.

It did stack up as being a viable thing to add the CPV Glass in a Classy Commercial Building.

Btw last house I built and sold I spent 12 extra on Miele Appliances and built in Coffee Machine. Purely because I believed Id get that 12k back plus more because it added a level above for just 12k. There would be similar conclusions from future Builders looking to add a point of difference to add value to what they build in asset gain for it being there, over and above the extra cost to install the CPV Glass.

Also the Clearvue product is clear without a grid pattern in the glass, and also its in between the glass lamination so would have a 30 year life span , whereas the film layer you mentioned may get the same power but would be unlikley to last 30 years and wouldnt have the energy savings from having insulating properties like the Thick laminated glass does.

Those energy savings on the insulation properties add to the power generated to make a viable product.
