You should have escalated it to dear old Bruno. He seem to know everything but he forgot to buy himself a good pocket calculator and a spelling checker.
As to why he was told to go and then asked to come back to look after this hot dog we will never know but, who knows, possibly there was no one else willing to go back there. But rest assured that he will continue to get paid.
