    Yes banks have pushed their products - they are a business. People can say NO - it's upto them to decide if it's right for them and they can afford to do it.

    As for the fine print yes that is a bit of a nightmare - BUT at the end of the day how many loans are being defaulted because of the fine print. A very small percentage I suspect - most are failing for more obvious and out in the open reasons.

    Banks are responsible for lending yes and to their shareholders - regardless of how educated you are YOU are responsible for your own decisions re taking the loan. Nobody has forced anyone to take a loan. Wholesale blaming of the banks is a cop out.
